Hawthorne, CA (May 18, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue in Hawthorne on Sunday morning, May 17, left one person dead and three others injured. According to the Hawthorne Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 11:49 a.m. and four vehicles were badly damaged. Emergency services arrived on scene and found multiple people requiring medical treatment. Two individuals were extracted from the wrecked vehicles. Officials reported that two patients were in extremely critical condition, with one later dying upon arrival at the hospital. Two other individuals were also hospitalized with injuries. The names of those involved have not been made public. Investigators continue to work to establish the cause of the multi-vehicle collision.
