How Emergency Response Scenarios Can Heighten Crash Risk. Emergency responders often speed through traffic when rushing to urgent calls to arrive at the scene. This can heighten the risk of collisions, especially at bustling intersections or high-traffic routes. Drivers might hear sirens or spot flashing lights yet still find it hard to pinpoint the precise direction of the oncoming emergency vehicle.
