In Panorama City, CA, locals emerged to the sound of sirens and the sight of flashing lights following a hit-and-run incident on Woodman Avenue that resulted in the death of Gary Schombert near Strathern Street. This occurred on Sunday, September 28, at 9:35 p.m. Authorities were notified about a scooter rider who was hit at the intersection of Woodman Avenue and Strathern Street. According to the Los Angeles police, a gray Honda sedan was moving north on Woodman. At one moment, they collided with 34-year-old Gary Schombert while he was riding a motorized scooter heading north. Upon the officers’ arrival, they secured the intersection and requested paramedics. According to the police and the County medical examiner, paramedics confirmed Schombert was deceased at the scene. Authorities reported that another vehicle heading north subsequently hit the scooter, and the driver of that vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. Law enforcement officials sought out witnesses and asked for video footage from the area to clarify the events that took place.
