Fresno, CA (January 26, 2026) – Two people, including a responding police officer and an elderly woman, were injured in a house fire reported on January 25 near the N Fulton St and E Belmont Ave intersection in the Fresno High-Roeding neighborhood. The incident was reported at approximately 5:50 p.m. which prompted a significant emergency response from firefighters and medical teams. Early accounts verified that the elderly woman was injured in the blaze and received aid from first responders. A police officer was also injured while assisting during the emergency. Both people were treated for injuries at the scene, though the severity of their wounds has not been publicly disclosed. Crews swiftly contained the fire, stopping it from spreading to adjacent buildings. The area was briefly shut down to traffic while emergency responders ensured nearby residents’ safety and secured the site. Officials are still probing the fire’s origin and the circumstances behind the injuries.
