Fresno, CA (April 18, 2026) – A woman was killed Saturday night when she was hit by a vehicle on Highway 99 in Fresno. The incident took place around 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 18, in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 just north of North Avenue. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where life-saving measures were already in progress. Despite these efforts, the woman was declared dead at the scene due to her injuries. Authorities stated that a Dodge Charger was heading south in the No. 1 lane when the woman stepped into the road and was hit. The driver stayed at the scene and worked with investigators. Officials indicated that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the driver’s actions. The woman’s toxicology report is still pending. Officials are ongoing in their probe into the crash’s cause, with additional information to be shared upon availability. We offer our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased.
