Fresno, CA (April 18, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision in east central Fresno on Friday night, sparked by a police chase, injured ten people, including minors. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. On Friday, April 17, at the Olive Street and Maple Avenue intersection. Reports indicate that a driver tried to escape a traffic stop, leading to a short pursuit that concluded with a three-vehicle collision. Emergency services arrived at the site, transporting several injured passengers to medical facilities. Authorities have confirmed that 10 individuals were taken for medical care, with all anticipated to make a full recovery. Cleanup of debris was also in progress in the area after the collision. The involved driver was injured and transported to a hospital. According to authorities, the suspect is facing numerous charges, such as felony evading and several counts of impaired driving. After medical clearance, the driver will be booked into jail. Officials are still examining the crash details, with additional information to be shared when available.
