Foster City, CA (May 2, 2026) – A deadly multi-vehicle collision took place early Friday morning on State Route 92 near Foster City. The crash was reported at approximately 1:10 a.m. In the eastbound lanes just east of the Substation 5 area, emergency units arrived to find at least two heavily damaged vehicles, both reportedly overturned. One vehicle caught fire in the incident, and another individual was reported trapped inside a vehicle. The crash resulted in a complete closure of all eastbound lanes for several hours while crews aided those involved and handled the scene. A coroner was called and confirmed that at least one person died in the crash. Tow crews later cleared the vehicles from the road, and lanes were reopened later that morning. No further information has been disclosed regarding the identities of those involved or the total number of injuries.
