Fillmore, CA (February 17, 2026) – Authorities report one fatality and two hospitalizations after a collision involving two vehicles on westbound Highway 126 (Telegraph Road), west of Pyle Road near Fillmore. The incident was reported on Monday, February 16, at around 9:05 a.m. Emergency responders from Ventura County Fire and the California Highway Patrol attended the event known as the Telegraph incident. A helicopter was sent out as well to help with the response. Initial reports suggest the crash involved a work truck and a passenger vehicle. One individual was declared dead on-site, while two others were taken to a hospital to receive care for their injuries. Traffic on Highway 19 faced major disruptions as emergency teams aided victims and probed the deadly crash. The eastbound lanes reopened just before 1:30 p.m. , with the remaining lanes reopening around 3:10 p.m.
