(Van Nuys, CA) A 55-year-old man died Thursday afternoon, January 15, after a big rig hit him in a pedestrian crash on Van Nuys Boulevard in a grocery store parking lot. The Los Angeles Police Department reported the incident happened around 3 p.m. on the 6700 block of North Van Nuys Boulevard. In particular, the collision occurred in the parking lot of a Jons Marketplace. Police responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a large commercial truck in a parking lot. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the man suffering from life-threatening injuries. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department declared him dead on-site. Parts of the parking lot were temporarily cordoned off as officers carried out an initial investigation and recorded evidence.
