In Boyle Heights on Sunday afternoon, a collision on Chicago Street resulted in the death of 24-year-old Eric Ramos and left three women hospitalized. The driver associated with the incident was apprehended by the police. This occurred on Sunday, September 28, around 4:20 p.m. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Chicago Street and First Street following reports of a serious accident. A westbound pickup truck on First collided with a parked car, causing multiple passengers to be thrown from the vehicle. Officials reported that Eric Ramos, who was in the front passenger seat, sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared dead at the location of the accident. Three women who were seated in the truck bed were ejected onto the street. Emergency medical personnel swiftly transported them to a trauma facility, where one individual was in critical condition and two others were in serious condition. Firefighters employed hydraulic equipment to free another individual who was trapped in the debris. According to the police, the 25-year-old driver escaped on foot following the accident but was eventually apprehended. Observers stated that the driver was behaving erratically prior to the accident on Chicago Street.
