East Los Angeles, CA (May 12, 2026) – A cyclist sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run collision in East Los Angeles on the evening of Monday, May 11. The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. In the 5300 block of Whittier Boulevard near Amalia Avenue, authorities reported that a driver struck several vehicles and a cyclist before abandoning the car and fleeing on foot. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where they discovered debris, wrecked vehicles, and the cyclist’s damaged bike scattered across the road. The cyclist was transported to a hospital with severe injuries. Authorities had yet to confirm if others had been injured. No arrests were reported. Officials have not provided any additional information regarding the suspected driver or possible other occupants of the vehicle. The reason for the accident is still being investigated.
