East Los Angeles, CA (October 2, 2025) – On Thursday afternoon, a person walking was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car at the crossroads of E Cesar E Chavez Ave and N Mednik Ave, as stated by reports from the California Highway Patrol and fire department. The accident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. and involved a gray Chevrolet Traverse that hit the pedestrian while in the traffic lanes. Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived shortly afterward to give preliminary medical assistance at the scene before taking the injured person to Los Angeles General Medical Center. Although the specific details of the injuries are not yet clear, the need for hospital transportation suggests the injuries are severe. Traffic lanes in the vicinity were momentarily closed while emergency services and law enforcement worked together on the response. The East LA Sheriff’s Office was present to help with the investigation, but additional information regarding the driver, the circumstances surrounding the accident, or any potential citations has yet to be disclosed.
