A hit-and-run collision was reported at about 1:35 p.m. Aug. 15 on eastbound Interstate 80 near the El Portal Drive off-ramp. The incident was handled in the California Highway Patrol’s Oakland area.
CHP dispatch information identified the location as eastbound I-80 just west of El Portal Drive. The involved vehicle was reported to be drivable after the collision.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Dispatch records also indicate that medical assistance was declined.
The latest CHP update, issued at about 1:43 p.m., stated that the vehicle remained operable. The dispatch information did not provide additional details about the other vehicle or the circumstances of the hit-and-run.
