Davis, CA (May 8, 2026) – A woman was killed in a multiple-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 80 on Thursday, May 7, near the Richards Boulevard exit in Davis. The accident happened at approximately 2:40 PM and involved a motorcycle, a pickup truck, and a semi-trailer. A motorcycle with a male rider and female passenger was following behind a pickup truck when traffic started to slow down. The motorcyclist was unable to brake in time and slammed into the back of the pickup truck, throwing the female passenger from the vehicle onto the road. She came down in the neighboring lane, right in front of an approaching semi-truck that couldn’t brake in time to avoid hitting her. She was declared dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was uninjured. No additional injuries occurred, and every vehicle stayed at the location. Officials indicated that neither alcohol nor drugs seem to have played a role in the accident. Two eastbound lanes were closed for some time after the crash before being reopened. Officials are still looking into the incident, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
