A traffic collision was reported on State Route 4 near Cape Horn at about 9:46 p.m. Sept. 17, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information. CHP classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash location was listed as State Route 4 at the Cape Horn junction in the San Andreas area. The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or provide details about the circumstances of the collision.
In a later update issued at about 1:24 a.m. Sept. 18, CHP reported that more than 100 gallons had spilled. The dispatch did not specify what substance was involved or where the spill originated.
No additional information about lane closures, traffic delays, medical treatment or roadway cleanup was included in the available CHP updates. The incident remained documented as a no-injury collision with a significant spill reported afterward.
