A traffic collision was reported early Friday on southbound Interstate 680 near the westbound State Route 24 connector in Contra Costa County. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash was logged at approximately 1:04 a.m. on September 4, 2026. CHP described the location as southbound I-680 just north of the State Route 24 connection.
A towing company was requested after the initial report to assist at the scene. The towing service was reported to be en route in a CHP update issued at about 1:21 a.m.
