A traffic collision was reported at 3:46 p.m. Aug. 31 on northbound U.S. 101 near Lewis Road in California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The location was initially listed as northbound U.S. 101 at Lewis Road, within the Ventura CHP area. The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or describe any lane closures.
At 3:52 p.m., a reporting party said they were unsure whether a light pole had been struck. The possible obstruction or damage was believed to be near the off-ramp or along East Daily Drive, but the report specifically indicated that the area near East Daily Drive and Lewis Road appeared most likely.
No additional information about vehicle damage, traffic impacts, emergency medical response or a tow request was included in the available CHP updates. The last documented update continued to identify the possible light-pole location as East Daily Drive and Lewis Road.
