A traffic collision was reported Monday afternoon in a large turnout along eastbound State Route 68 near southbound Highway 1 in Monterey County. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
The crash was logged at about 3:10 p.m. on Aug. 24, 2026. Dispatch information placed the incident eastbound near the southbound Highway 1 connection, with the vehicles located in or near the turnout.
At 3:27 p.m., a reporting party advised CHP that the response was delayed. The report also indicated that another vehicle was at the scene and might still be just west of the reporting party.
The available CHP information did not identify the vehicles involved or report any lane closures. No injuries were documented in the dispatch record.
