Chula Vista, CA (March 14, 2026) – A man died following a two-vehicle collision near Otay Lake in Chula Vista. The crash took place at approximately 11:45 a.m. On Friday, March 13, along Otay Lakes Road east of Wueste Road. Officials reported that an Acura sedan heading westbound was hit by a Honda sedan traveling eastbound. According to authorities, the Honda veered across the solid yellow center lines into the westbound lane prior to the collision with the Acura. The collision forced both vehicles off the road, where they ended up on the embankment of the right shoulder on the westbound side. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and assisted those involved. The Acura driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The Honda driver sustained minor injuries in the collision. Officials stated that the deceased driver’s identity is being withheld until family members are notified. Officials are still probing the reason behind the accident, with further information to be shared as it emerges. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of the victim.
