Investigators frequently consult the Motorcycle Safety Law in cases of fatal motorcycle collisions. This law mandates that drivers operate safely near motorcycles, granting them full lane usage and avoiding hazardous maneuvers. Implementing this law aids in assessing whether the other driver maintained proper spacing and caution prior to the Bell Road collision. If initial evidence indicates that lane changes or vehicle placement played a role in the crash, officers might review the Improper Turn and Lane Movement Law. This rule specifies the safe procedures for drivers to make turns and change lanes.
