Carmichael, CA (March 19, 2026) – A bicyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with a vehicle Thursday morning in Carmichael. The incident occurred around 8:47 a.m. On March 19, at the San Juan Avenue and Santa Susana Way intersection in Sacramento County. Emergency responders were sent to the scene following reports of a crash between a car and a bicycle. Initial details show that a vehicle hit a tandem bicycle while driving in the northbound lanes of San Juan Ave. The cause of the crash has not been fully established yet. Officials stated that the cyclist suffered serious injuries in the accident. The injured rider was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center to receive treatment. It was unclear right away whether others were injured in the crash. Traffic was disrupted in the area after both northbound and southbound lanes of San Juan Ave were briefly shut down for crews to inspect the scene and collect evidence.
