(Westminster, CA) An elderly man died Tuesday night, February 3, following a vehicle collision on Springdale Street. Westminster police arrived at the scene around 6:50 p.m. Following reports of a pedestrian collision on Springdale Street, just south of Westminster Boulevard. Police found a man in the road who had sustained severe injuries. Paramedics took him to a nearby hospital for medical care. The Orange County Coroner’s Office named the victim as 66-year-old Bobby Callum, described as homeless. Callum succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, despite receiving medical treatment. Authorities withheld information on the nature of the injuries or the duration of his survival following the crash. Police noted that the driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. The officers indicated they did not believe the driver was impaired during the collision. Officials also withheld details about the vehicle involved, the pedestrian’s precise location in the roadway, or the presence of a nearby marked crosswalk. The cause of the collision was still under investigation while officers reviewed evidence and interviewed witnesses.
