(Petaluma, CA) Authorities are conducting a hit-and-run investigation following the discovery of a deceased bicyclist on Saturday morning, November 22, after an incident on Rainsville Road in the Petaluma area. The California Highway Patrol reported that officers arrived at the scene around 9 a.m. to the vicinity of Rainsville Road close to Stoney Point Road. When the officers arrived, they discovered a cyclist unresponsive beside the road. The individual discovered the cyclist, who was subsequently declared deceased at the location. It is suspected that the hit-and-run incident took place between late Friday and early Saturday, but the precise timing is uncertain. The victim and his bicycle were found off the road under foggy conditions by the officers. Officials think this might have played a role in the visibility problems during the incident.
