Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the deceased’s loved ones. How Scooter Accidents at Crossings Happen. Scooter accidents frequently occur at intersections where vehicles and riders share the same space. Even when riders use crosswalks, visibility and timing can determine if drivers spot them soon enough. Low-light situations, like around midnight, make it tougher to notice smaller vehicles such as scooters. Speed, turning maneuvers, and limited reaction time can also heighten the risk of a collision. Riders can enhance visibility with lights and reflective gear, while drivers can lower risk by slowing down and carefully checking crosswalks before entering intersections.
