Bakersfield, CA (December 12, 2025) – One person was injured early Thursday morning in a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of California State Route 178 East and Mount Vernon Avenue. The crash took place soon after 5:36 a.m. According to on-scene reports, emergency responders arrived to find two vehicles with extensive damage. Paramedics offered medical treatment on-site and took one or more people to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of the injuries. Traffic in the area was disrupted during the morning commute while officers redirected vehicles around the crash site. The intersection stayed partially obstructed as crews cleared debris and evaluated the scene. No information has been disclosed about the cause of the crash or if any citations were given.
