The woman who died in a Main Street accident on the night of October 11 has been identified as 35-year-old Ashley Dietze from Ramona, as reported by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities discovered that the incident occurred just before 9:33 p.m. within the 700 range of Main Street. Dietze and a 42-year-old man were walking when they were hit by a 1997 Toyota T100 pickup truck traveling west. Officials characterized the location as a poorly lit section of road lacking a designated crosswalk. Ashley Dietze was declared dead at the site. Emergency medical personnel took her partner to Palomar Medical Center due to significant injuries. According to CHP Officer Jasmine Lopez, the 19-year-old truck driver and his 17-year-old passenger were unharmed. The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing.
