Antioch, CA (January 27, 2026) – Officials have verified that a teenage girl discovered deceased on L Street in Antioch early Friday morning died from a deadly hit-and-run crash. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 17-year-old Jeana Flores of Antioch. Police responded to the area of L Street between West 18th and West 10th Streets around 3:33 a.m. On January 23, following reports of a body seen near the roadside. Officers responding to the scene found Flores near the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, dead with multiple visible injuries. Initially classified as a suspicious death, the investigation shifted to tragedy following an autopsy that showed the injuries matched those from a vehicle strike. Officials now suspect the teenager was the victim of a hit-and-run incident, with the case handed over to the Antioch Police Traffic Safety Unit. As of this report, investigators remain unsure why Flores was in the area at that time, and no witnesses have provided direct evidence of a vehicle linked to the collision. Officials have yet to disclose details on any potential suspect vehicle. The probe is still active, and authorities are asking anyone in the vicinity during the early hours of January 23, or with dashcam video or pertinent details, to reach out to the Antioch Police Department.
