A two-vehicle collision was reported at about 3:39 p.m. Sept. 21 on southbound State Route 85 just south of the Union Avenue on-ramp in San Jose. An ambulance was listed as en route to the scene.
A later California Highway Patrol dispatch update at 3:48 p.m. indicated that both vehicles were on the right-hand shoulder. The vehicles were described as driveable, and CHP assistance was requested.
The dispatch information did not provide details about the vehicles involved, the circumstances of the collision or any reported injuries. It also did not specify a lane closure or other broader roadway restriction.
The incident location was identified as southbound SR-85 near the Union Avenue on-ramp. CHP’s update placed both vehicles off the main travel lanes on the right shoulder while the response continued.
