A two-vehicle collision was reported Thursday afternoon on northbound Interstate 680 just south of Ygnacio Valley Road in Contra Costa County. The incident was reported at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 27, 2026.
The crash location was identified as the northbound freeway near the Ygnacio Valley Road off-ramp. CHP dispatch information indicated that two vehicles were involved and were in collision.
An ambulance was reported en route to the scene, according to the initial CHP dispatch. A subsequent update issued at 3:57 p.m. continued to identify two vehicles at the collision location.
The dispatch information did not specify whether anyone was injured or report any lane closures. No additional details about the vehicles or the circumstances of the collision were provided.
