A later update at 2:39 p.m. relayed a passing motorist’s report of two males standing beneath a broken tree near the viewpoint. The individuals were reported to be on the right shoulder, just south of the viewpoint.
The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or describe the circumstances leading to the collision. It also did not provide an injury assessment beyond noting the ambulance response.
CHP did not report any lane closures or other traffic restrictions associated with the incident. The available update did not state whether the broken tree had been removed or whether the ambulance had arrived.
