In Carlsbad, California, a cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Carlsbad Boulevard after being hit by a vehicle. The accident occurred early Saturday morning on September 13, around 4:30 a.m. involving Alexander Renne Gendron, aged 8833. the hit and run incident on Carlsbad Boulevard took place. As stated by Lt. Jason Arnotti from the Carlsbad Police Department, the incident took place on Carlsbad Boulevard in the 4400 block. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a deceased bicyclist on the road. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed by the authorities. Using help from local residents, license plate recognition technology, and a police drone, officers were able to find the suspect approximately a mile away from where the incident occurred. Authorities apprehended 27-year-old Alexander Renee Gendron from Escondido. He was placed in the Vista Detention Facility with a no-bail status. He is being charged with several offenses, such as murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence, and felony hit-and-run. He is set to appear for arraignment on Wednesday at the Vista Courthouse.
