Alamo, CA (December 20, 2025) – A crash causing injuries blocked northbound lanes of I-680 on Saturday afternoon just north of Livorna Rd in Alamo, resulting in traffic delays and an emergency response. The incident was reported around 12:08 p.m. , per the California Highway Patrol. Several vehicles collided, blocking lanes on the northbound freeway and causing backups through the area. Paramedics and fire crews from Contra Costa County were among the first responders who arrived at the scene to aid the injured victims. Multiple people suffered various injuries and were treated on location. Officials have yet to confirm the number of people injured or the severity of their injuries, though the incident triggered a joint response to treat all victims and secure the area. Traffic stayed backed up while crews cleared the debris and probed the crash’s cause. Motorists were urged to steer clear of the area or anticipate ongoing delays as the investigation continues.
