In Escondido, California, an 11-year-old boy named Aiden Antonio Torres de Paz was fatally hit by a car and left on the side of the road on November 25th. The incident occurred on East Washington Avenue. Lieutenant Craig Miller from the Escondido Police Department reported that they arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. to the 400 block of East Washington Avenue, close to Hickory Street. They received reports of a child who was hit by a car. Investigators stated that Aiden was picking up a soccer ball in the roadway in front of his house. While he was picking up the ball, a car that was driving by hit him. The driver left the spot without helping after the accident. Aiden was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego by paramedics, where he passed away on Thanksgiving Day. The police caught and arrested Hector Balderas Amador, a 44-year-old man from Escondido. Authorities placed him in the Vista Detention Facility on charges of felony hit-and-run resulting in death. He is detained on a $50,000 bail, with an arraignment scheduled for Wednesday at Vista Superior Court. Summary of the East Washington Avenue accident.
