(Montebello, CA) Early Saturday morning on January 10, a man died in a Pomona Freeway crash between a sedan and a semi-truck. CHP officers got calls around 3:04 a.m. onto the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway via the North Garfield Avenue off-ramp. According to investigators, the victim was riding in a white sedan that crashed into a semi-trailer near the exit. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered significant damage to the involved vehicles. Paramedics from the Montebello Fire Department declared the sedan’s driver dead at the scene. Later, the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the victim as 26-year-old Aidan Guevara. CHP did not immediately explain how the vehicles collided or which lane the crash happened in. Authorities issued a SigAlert around 3:40 a.m. due to the closure of one eastbound lane at the North Garfield Avenue exit. During the closure, officers conducted an investigation while crews cleared the debris.
