(Panorama City, CA) A speeding minivan ran a red light on Friday night, December 12, causing a three-vehicle crash on Terra Bella Street that killed three people. The incident occurred around 9:37 p.m. at the intersection of Terra Bella Street and Woodman Avenue. According to police, a gray Plymouth minivan heading west on Terra Bella Avenue ran a red light. Moments later, they collided with a blue Ford Mustang and a tan Honda Civic, both traveling south on Woodman. Investigators think the minivan driver was escaping the site of a prior crash just before the collision. Following the crash, the driver of the Civic stepped out of the car and ran away, without stopping to identify themselves or provide assistance. Paramedics declared the Mustang driver—later identified as Adrian Carrilo—a Mustang passenger, and the minivan driver dead at the scene. They transported a 35-year-old man to a hospital in critical condition, while three others refused medical treatment. The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is ongoing in its investigation of the Terra Bella Street Collision. Investigators apply the Red-Light Signal Law when a driver goes through a red light.
