In Valley Glen, CA, a woman sustained severe injuries on the morning of October 17 when she was hit by a driver who fled the scene while she was crossing at a crosswalk on Chandler Boulevard, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities arrived at the scene at approximately 9:20 a.m. to where Chandler and Van Nuys boulevards meet. Upon their arrival, they discovered the woman on the road suffering from serious injuries. During their investigation, officials discovered that she walked across the street heading north within the designated crosswalk. As she was crossing, a silver Lexus NX350H heading east hit her. The driver then fled the scene without offering assistance to the victim. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department took the woman to a local hospital, where she was reported to be in critical condition by the doctors. LAPD officials cautioned drivers that it is necessary for anyone who is part of a crash to halt, contact emergency services, and stay at the location. They also announced a reward of $50,000 for information that results in the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
