A woman in her 40s was tragically killed on November 1 in a hit and run incident on Avenue S in Palmdale, California, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale Station. The collision took place at approximately 4:13 a.m., and the vehicle involved, a sedan, fled the scene after striking the woman. Close to 20th Street East and Avenue S, investigators reported that a light blue 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis was heading west in the left lane. At one moment, the woman realized something while she was pushing a shopping cart across Avenue S despite the red light. The driver kept going west without stopping or seeking assistance, according to deputies. Paramedics arrived shortly afterward and declared the woman deceased at the location. Later, deputies found the Mercury and apprehended the alleged driver at a residence in Palmdale on several felony charges. Officials seized the vehicle as evidence, and investigators determined that alcohol played a role in the deadly accident.
