A 40-year-old man was fatally hit on December 10, 2025, in Vallejo, CA. The incident occurred when he was walking in the traffic lanes of eastbound Interstate 780 near the Military West off-ramp, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The deadly event happened just after 6:00 p.m. This triggered a major response from law enforcement and emergency services. Initial reports from CHP suggested that a pedestrian was walking in the active lanes of I-780. Around 6:15 p.m. Authorities have stated that the individual was struck by a minimum of one vehicle and succumbed to his wounds. The reasons for the man’s presence on the freeway are still unknown. After the accident, officials closed the eastbound lane of the freeway between the Military West and Southampton exits for several hours as investigators looked into the incident and collected evidence. The name of the deceased has not been disclosed yet, awaiting notification of the family. CHP is still looking into the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate accident.
