(Anaheim, CA) A fatal accident on the 57 Freeway resulted in the death of a pedestrian late Saturday night when a vehicle hit him close to Katella Avenue. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 20, around 10:20 p.m. The California Highway Patrol was alerted about a person walking on the southbound Orange (43183) Freeway. Shortly after, a car passing through the vicinity hit them. CHP officials arrived promptly and closed off lanes while emergency personnel hurried in to assist. Unfortunately, despite attempts to save the individual, the pedestrian passed away at the location. The coroner’s office in Orange County verified that their team arrived at the scene by 11:01 p.m. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim or offered any information regarding the reasons for his presence on the freeway. The motorist stayed at the location and assisted the investigators. The collision on the 57 Freeway caused traffic delays for several hours, while the CHP inspected the area, gathered evidence, and started to determine the reasons behind the accident.
