In Chula Vista, CA, a man aged 77 lost his life in a crash on L Street early Wednesday morning, according to authorities. The accident happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. in the 600 section of L Street. After conducting an investigation, officials discovered that a 2014 Toyota Corolla headed east collided with a pedestrian. According to Chula Vista Police Officer Carson Tabor, the victim was standing in the street when the accident occurred. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the man was declared dead at the location. His identity has not been disclosed yet, as authorities are waiting to inform his family. The Corolla driver stayed at the location and worked with the authorities. Officer Tabor stated that there doesn’t seem to be any indication of intoxication contributing to the accident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the reasons behind the incident and are considering whether factors like lighting or pedestrian activity may have contributed. Tragic pedestrian accidents of this nature cause shock and heartbreak among families and communities.
