In Riverside, CA, a motorcyclist was taken to the hospital on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 15, after a crash on the Riverside (91) Freeway that involved a bus and a car, as stated by the California Highway Patrol. The accident was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the westbound traffic lanes close to Tyler Street. According to CHP officials, a motorcycle crashed into a bus operated by the Riverside Transit Agency. Consequently, the bicycle toppled over, ejecting the rider into the HOV lane. While the rider was lying in the lane, his motorcycle collided with a nearby vehicle. Paramedics from the Riverside Fire Department arrived shortly after and provided care to the injured rider. Upon evaluating the rider, paramedics concluded that they had suffered moderate injuries and took them to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment. Everyone on the bus and in the car was unharmed. Officials shut down two lanes for safety reasons, but the lanes were reopened by 5 p.m.
