On Monday evening, near the San Diego International Airport, a pedestrian was hit by a car, causing multiple severe injuries, as reported by the San Diego Police Department. The accident happened at approximately 5:04 p.m. on October 27 in the 3400 area of Pacific Highway at the crossing with Sassafras Street. A man was struck by a Chrysler Pacifica traveling south while he was walking in the intersection, according to authorities. Prompt emergency care was administered by responders at the scene, and the man was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. He endured multiple severe injuries, such as a broken right femur, a cracked pelvis, fractures to the right tibia and fibula, and brain damage. His present condition has not been made public. The driver of the Chrysler, a 75-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. There have been no announcements regarding citations or arrests. The Traffic Division of the San Diego Police Department is still looking into the details of the accident. We are thinking of the injured pedestrian and hope for his quick and complete recovery.
