On Monday evening, a woman tragically died in Lancaster, CA after being struck by a driver who did not stop to help following the accident, as per the reports from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. The incident took place at approximately 5:14 p.m. close to the crossroads of Avenue I and Kingtree Avenue. A female pedestrian was walking south on Avenue I, either within or outside of a designated crosswalk, when she was struck by a westbound silver Honda SUV. Regrettably, the driver failed to halt and provide assistance to the injured party, choosing instead to leave the scene without offering any aid. Emergency responders arrived quickly and took the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was later declared deceased. Investigators are looking into whether speed, distraction, or impairment contributed to the fatal accident. Currently, there have been no arrests, and the search for the driver continues. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of the woman who tragically lost her life in this heartbreaking event.
