In Sonoma County, California, a car accident on Lakeville Highway led to one fatality, one hospitalization, and one arrest on the morning of October 26, as reported by the California Highway Patrol’s Santa Rosa office. The incident took place around 6:00 a.m. on Lakeville Highway, south of Old Lakeville Road number 3. During the investigation, authorities discovered that a Ford Mustang was heading south. While trying to cross over the double-yellow lines to overtake a Toyota Highlander, the Mustang ended up crashing headfirst into a Honda HR-V traveling northwards. The collision resulted in the Toyota losing control and veering off the road following a hit on its left side, according to the CHP. The authorities announced that the Honda’s passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene, and the driver was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. The sole occupant of the Ford, functioning as the driver, endured significant wounds. Officers took him into custody on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs. Authorities found that none of the six people in the Toyota were injured. Officials shut down Lakeville Highway for approximately four and a half hours while teams worked to clear the area.
