In Ontario, California, a devastating collision on the 10 Freeway resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left at least four others injured on Tuesday afternoon, October 21, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The accident took place on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway, shortly east of the 15 Freeway. The collision was recorded by the dashcam video from the Freightliner truck that was involved. The video captures the massive truck crashing into the back of an SUV and subsequently colliding with several other vehicles in a chaotic series of impacts. Law enforcement has taken into custody the 33-year-old semi-truck driver, Jashanpreet Singh from Yuba City, on charges of suspected drug intoxication while driving and vehicular manslaughter. According to CHP Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, paramedics transported Singh to a hospital following the accident. Following an assessment by medical personnel, the police apprehended Singh. According to reports, the truck driver came into the United States in 2022 and is suspected of being in the country without legal permission. One of the victims has been identified as a 54-year-old man from Upland, although his name has not been made public yet. The other two individuals suffered serious burns, and authorities are working to verify who they are. The lanes heading west were shut down for several hours but were eventually opened again.
