A 52-year-old cyclist passed away on Saturday night, December 6, due to an accident on South Harbor Drive close to Oceanside Harbor in Oceanside, CA. The collision occurred in the 300 block of South Harbor Drive around 10:30 p.m. According to OPD spokeswoman Gina Avalos, the cyclist sustained serious injuries such as head trauma and a compound fracture of the thigh bone. Paramedics transported him by air to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was declared dead. The driver of the SUV remained at the location and assisted the officers. Avalos pointed out that alcohol or drugs seemed not to be involved. Authorities have not disclosed the victim’s identity, and information about the incident’s impact is still unclear. Examination of the South Harbor Drive Collision. Due to the tragedy involving a cyclist hit at night, investigators will examine various traffic safety laws to identify the factors that contributed to the incident. When visibility was a factor, analysts frequently referred to the Basic Speed Law. Drivers must drive at speeds that are appropriate for nighttime and road conditions.
