On December 1, 2025, in Bakersfield, CA, a car accident involving two vehicles occurred on northbound Highway 99 close to Merle Haggard Road at around 3:51 a.m. This collision led to injuries for three people and required a quick reaction from different organizations, including Kern County Fire, Bakersfield Fire, and the U.S. Forest Service, who all responded to the scene promptly. Following reports of a significant crash between two vehicles, both were located on opposite sides of the highway. The accident led to a urgent situation where first responders rapidly evaluated and provided care to the injured. Varying degrees of injuries were suffered by three individuals who were prioritized accordingly at the scene. At least one victim was designated with a green tag, signifying injuries that are not life-threatening. Medical teams assessed the remaining two patients while more units were called off as the situation stabilized. The crash caused temporary delays on CA-99 northbound as crews managed traffic and ensured the safety of responders and passing motorists. Both vehicles stayed upright, and there were no reports of anyone being trapped. Authorities are still looking into the details of the accident, including the road conditions and the drivers’ actions just before the collision.
