On November 3, a DUI collision took place on California Avenue in Bakersfield, CA, which led to the tragic death of 8-year-old Xxavian Hernandez and left his father injured. The incident occurred close to the intersection of East California Avenue and Haley Street, as per the Bakersfield Police Department. After an investigation, officials reported that a black Nissan pickup left the road. Shortly afterward, it broke through a fence and collided with the location where the victims were dining near a food truck. Xxavian was promptly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds the next day. The police reported that his father sustained moderate injuries and was admitted to the hospital. Witnesses reported a tumultuous situation as onlookers attempted to assist. Police took Andres Serna, 33, into custody on allegations of six felony offenses connected to the accident.
