Long Beach, CA (November 2, 2025) – Two women were taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition, after a car accident that resulted in a fire on Thursday evening near the junction of Terminal Avenue and East 15th Street in Long Beach. The accident happened around 7:17 p.m. This triggered a quick emergency reaction from the Fire and Police Departments of Long Beach. Dispatch audio indicated that both occupants were first reported as unconscious, but one of the females was observed walking away from the site shortly after the accident. Police officers discovered her close by with apparent wounds. The vehicle involved became engulfed in flames, but firemen present at the location were able to promptly extinguish the fire. Paramedics quickly attended to both victims. One woman was taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, while the other was reported to be in stable condition. Authorities briefly closed nearby streets, including Terminal Ave and surrounding areas, to enable emergency teams to work safely and investigate the accident. Authorities are also examining if impairment played a role, citing a potential DUI inquiry under California Vehicle Code 23152. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still in progress.
