On October 29th, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a motorcyclist tragically lost their life in a collision with an SUV on North Melrose Drive, as reported by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station attended the scene. to the 500 block on North Melrose Drive. Initial reports indicate that a motorcycle collided with an SUV. Initial observations show that the biker was going in a northerly direction as the SUV joined North Melrose Drive, moving westward towards Dove Circle. Authorities stated that the cyclist attempted to avoid the crash but was thrown off the motorcycle and landed near the southbound lanes’ western curb line. Deputies provided medical assistance prior to the arrival of paramedics, but despite their attempts to save him, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV stayed at the location and worked with investigators. The investigation is being led by the Traffic Unit of the Vista Sheriff’s Station.
